INSTALLATION - ACCEPTANCE
Which one is more decadent? a foolproof table with the rules of etiquette, or a table which simulates perfection by fulfilling the cultural codes despite any lack of functionality? In other words, a perfected decline.
INSTALLATION - DEFAULT SETTINGS: DASEIN
Default Settings: Dasein engages notions of time and alienation from nature in our new era of the Anthropocene. The kinetic sculpture that resembles a clock with a metallic cube base and treelimb hand rotates in a syncopation foreign to humans. Completing one rotation at a random unit which is longer than one minute, this sculptures keeps an alternate version of time, one that deviates from an anthropocentric standardized measure. In a video of a fish tank placed in the shoreline of Pacific Ocean, the waves washing over and around the geometric enclosure of glass. One might say a more natural measure of time is established, one created by the rhythm of wind transferring its energy to the water.Dimensions Variable || Stainless Steel, Wood, Video, Tank and Stand, Water, Living Organisms
INSTALLATION - HYPER NOTHING MARKUP REALITY
In HNMR, the gallery is covered by over 1000 digital prints of HTML codes of an image on my facebook timeline. The digital image displayed on an ipad on the floor is that of a blindfolded bull stranded in a pit full of blood. The audience is intended to participate in this cathartic experience.
INSTALLATION - POST MEMORY
Moving from the question of whether text could still deploy meaning despite its illegibility, I wanted to question the reliability of post memory by merging memory-creating and recording documents from different perspectives.
INSTALLATION - PERCEPTION MECHANISM
The work links the basic Physics principle of Perspective and Depth Perception to the social reality in Turkey. The image is that of Ozge Unlutezcan, who was judged for having expressed her thoughts on social media during the Gezi Park protests in 2013. Rendering her autobiographical notion, The Perception Mechanism invites the viewer to take a position where both halves can be perceived as one, and offers a physical separation but perceptual integration of her image. Even when the viewer tries to see the full image, the truth is still half-hidden.

The imaginary concrete landscapes illustrate the concepts of dislocation, time, solitude, suspension and freedom within the broader context of alienation.

PERFORMANCE - RISK OF INFECTION
Risk of Infection is a performance in which the artist uses his body as a screen by projecting a 15 minute-video of my circumcision ritual originally recorded on VHS tape. As the video plays, he translate the conversations from Turkish to English. His ambition is to re-experience the sensation of a past experience. The performance illustrates the artist's personal point in gender-related obligations, as well as being a therapeutic experiment to exorcise himself from the possession of an intense memory.
